The BMI USA 6115 is a lead-free brass hex bushing designed to reduce a 1/4-inch male threaded connection down to a 1/8-inch female threaded port. This type of fitting is a standard component in plumbing, HVAC, and gas-distribution piping assemblies where a threaded size reduction is needed without adding significant bulk or weight to the line. Constructed from lead-free brass, the 6115 meets potable-water and low-pressure service requirements. It weighs 0.03 pounds, making it easy to handle and stock in bulk. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this fitting.
This hex bushing is suited for residential and light commercial applications where NPT threaded connections require a step-down reduction. Typical install scenarios include water supply lines, compressed-air distribution, low-pressure gas branch lines, and HVAC refrigerant-side service ports where a 1/4-inch to 1/8-inch transition is required. The hex profile allows a standard wrench to seat and tighten the fitting securely without slipping or rounding.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded replacement fitting for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and low-pressure gas piping systems requiring a 1/4-inch to 1/8-inch NPT bushing reduction.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the supply line completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten with a wrench to the hex flats — do not use the body of the fitting as a gripping surface. Pressure-test the joint after installation before returning the system to service.
