The BMI USA 6032 is a lead-free brass threaded coupling designed to connect pipes of two different sizes in plumbing and mechanical piping systems. This reducing coupling transitions from a 1-1/4 inch connection to a 3/4 inch connection using standard threaded engagement. At 0.57 pounds, it is a compact, solid-brass fitting suited for potable water, general plumbing, and light commercial piping applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction, renovation, and repair work where a threaded reducing connection is required.
This coupling is appropriate for residential and light commercial plumbing systems where threaded pipe connections are specified. It is used when transitioning between 1-1/4 inch and 3/4 inch pipe runs, such as branch takeoffs, riser connections, and fixture supply lines. The lead-free construction meets requirements for installations on potable water systems. It is installed wherever a durable, code-compliant threaded brass reducer is needed in a tight footprint.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded brass reducing coupling for residential and light commercial plumbing systems using 1-1/4 inch to 3/4 inch threaded pipe connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive torque.
