The BMI USA 6023 is a lead-free brass threaded coupling designed to connect pipes of two different diameters in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. This reducing coupling measures 3/4 inch on one end and 1/2 inch on the other, allowing a straightforward transition between pipe sizes within a threaded piping system. Constructed from solid brass, the fitting delivers reliable corrosion resistance and a pressure-rated connection suitable for potable water supply lines. Licensed plumbers and journeyman pipe fitters are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This coupling is appropriate for use in residential water supply systems, light commercial plumbing, and any threaded pipe application requiring a 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch reduction. It is well suited for retrofit and new-construction installations where lead-free compliance is required by local plumbing codes. The lead-free construction meets requirements for fittings used in potable water service under applicable regulations.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded reducing coupling for 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch threaded pipe connections in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
This fitting is installed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local amendments. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten to snug with pipe wrenches — do not overtighten, as excess torque can crack brass fittings. Inspect the connection for leaks after restoring system pressure.
