The BMI USA 4835 is a lead free brass threaded nipple used to connect sections of pipe in plumbing and fluid handling systems. It is manufactured from brass with a red finish and is designed to provide a secure, leak-resistant threaded connection between fittings, valves, or pipe sections. At 3.5 inches in length and sized at 1-1/2 inch nominal diameter, this nipple fits standard threaded plumbing assemblies. Lead free construction makes it suitable for potable water applications where regulatory compliance is required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of fitting.
This nipple is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a short threaded extension or close connection is needed between pipe and fitting. Common applications include water supply lines, distribution manifolds, and service connections. The 1-1/2 inch size is frequently encountered in drain, waste, and vent rough-in as well as domestic hot and cold supply work. Its compact 3.5 inch length suits tight-clearance installations where a longer nipple would not fit.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded brass nipple compatible with standard 1-1/2 inch NPT fittings, valves, and pipe connections in residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive torque.
