The BMI USA 4825 is a lead-free brass threaded nipple designed for use in potable water, plumbing distribution, and general piping systems. Measuring 1-1/2 inches in diameter and 2-1/2 inches in length, this nipple provides a reliable threaded connection between fittings, valves, and pipe runs. The brass construction resists corrosion and handles typical residential and light commercial working pressures. Lead-free compliance makes it suitable for systems carrying drinking water. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting as part of routine rough-in and repair work.
The 4825 nipple is used in residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a short threaded extension or offset is needed between components. Common install scenarios include water distribution headers, boiler trim connections, valve extensions, and fixture supply rough-ins. The 1-1/2-inch thread size is frequently encountered in drain, waste, and vent rough-in as well as water supply headers. The red finish identifies the fitting within the BMI Canada product line and aids in visual inventory management on the job.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit nipple for 1-1/2 inch NPT threaded plumbing systems in residential and light commercial installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing threaded nipples. Apply a listed thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive torque applied with pipe wrenches.
