The BMI USA 4770 is a lead-free brass threaded pipe nipple designed for use in potable water, plumbing, and general fluid-handling systems. Measuring 1-1/4 inches in diameter and 10 inches in length, it provides a reliable, corrosion-resistant connection between threaded fittings, valves, and pipe runs. Constructed from brass with a red finish, this nipple meets lead-free requirements for use in drinking water applications. It is installed by licensed plumbers and experienced pipe fitters working on residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
This nipple is suited for residential and commercial plumbing installations where a longer-length threaded connector is required between two fittings or fixtures. The 10-inch length makes it useful in close-quarters roughing applications where standard short nipples fall short. It is appropriate for water supply lines, distribution manifolds, and similar threaded pipe assemblies requiring a durable brass fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard supply fitting compatible with 1-1/4 inch NPT threaded plumbing systems, valves, and fittings in residential and commercial water distribution applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing threaded pipe nipples. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten threaded connections, as this can crack fittings or damage threads.
