The BMI USA 4760 is a lead-free brass threaded nipple designed for use in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. At 1-1/4 inches in diameter and 6 inches in length, this close-tolerance fitting connects sections of pipe using standard NPT threads on both ends. Constructed from solid brass, it delivers reliable corrosion resistance and durability under normal service pressures. Its lead-free composition makes it suitable for potable water applications where local codes require compliance with lead-free standards. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters select this type of nipple for water supply lines, distribution headers, and fixture rough-in work.
This nipple is suited for residential and commercial plumbing installations involving water supply, hydronic heating distribution, and general pipe assembly. The 1-1/4-inch size is commonly used in main supply branches, boiler piping, and manifold connections. The 6-inch length provides working clearance in confined spaces where close or short nipples would not reach between fittings or valves.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 1-1/4-inch NPT threaded pipe and fittings used in residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable International Plumbing Code (IPC) or local jurisdiction requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before threading or unthreading any fittings. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to NPT threads before assembly. Do not overtighten brass fittings, as excessive torque can crack the fitting body.
