The BMI USA 4755 is a lead free brass threaded nipple designed for use in potable water, plumbing, and fluid distribution systems. This close-pattern nipple measures 1-1/4 inches in diameter and 5-1/2 inches in length, providing a reliable threaded connection between pipes, valves, and fittings. Constructed from solid brass with a red finish, the 4755 meets lead free standards required for drinking water applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during rough-in work, repairs, and system extensions across both residential and light commercial projects.
This nipple is suited for potable water supply lines, hydronic heating systems, compressed air, and general fluid distribution where a threaded male-to-male connection is needed. The 1-1/4 inch nominal thread size fits standard NPT female threaded ports on valves, couplings, tees, and elbows. It is commonly installed in mechanical rooms, utility spaces, and under-slab or in-wall plumbing assemblies where a short rigid extension is required between components.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install threaded nipple for standard 1-1/4 inch NPT female-threaded plumbing components in residential and light commercial systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before hand-tightening, then wrench-tighten to a snug fit — do not overtighten brass fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque. Inspect for leaks after restoring system pressure.
