The BMI USA 4750 is a lead-free brass threaded nipple designed for use in plumbing systems where potable water safety compliance is required. Measuring 1-1/4 inches in diameter and 5 inches in length, this nipple connects threaded pipe sections in residential and light commercial plumbing installations. The red finish aids in quick identification on the job. At 0.88 pounds, it is a solid, full-weight brass fitting suitable for standard pressure service lines. Licensed plumbers install this fitting as part of water supply piping runs, branch connections, and fixture drops.
This nipple is appropriate for use in water supply systems, including hot and cold lines, where lead-free brass fittings are specified by code. It is well suited for residential construction and renovation work, as well as light commercial applications. The threaded ends accept standard NPT connections, making it compatible with common pipe assemblies found in kitchens, bathrooms, mechanical rooms, and utility spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fitting for standard NPT-threaded plumbing systems requiring 1-1/4 inch lead-free brass nipples.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes, including IPC requirements for lead-free fittings on potable water systems. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before replacing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope to the male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten, as brass fittings can crack under excessive torque.
