The BMI USA 4735 is a lead-free brass close nipple designed for threaded pipe connections in plumbing and fluid-handling systems. Measuring 1-1/4 inches in diameter and 3-1/2 inches in length, this fitting provides a reliable, corrosion-resistant connection between threaded pipe runs, valves, and fittings. The lead-free brass construction meets modern potable water standards, making it appropriate for domestic water supply lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of nipple in both new construction and retrofit applications where a short, rigid threaded coupling is required.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where 1-1/4-inch threaded connections are specified. Typical applications include water supply lines, boiler connections, HVAC hydronic systems, and general fluid distribution piping. The red finish on the brass body allows for quick visual identification during installation. Its lead-free composition qualifies it for use in potable water systems under current plumbing codes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard component for 1-1/4-inch NPT threaded plumbing and hydronic piping systems in residential and light commercial installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly to ensure a leak-free joint. Do not overtighten, as brass fittings can crack under excessive torque.
