The BMI USA 4672 is a lead free brass threaded nipple measuring 1 inch in diameter and 12 inches in length. This pipe fitting connects two threaded sections of pipe in plumbing and fluid distribution systems. Machined from solid brass with a red finish, it provides reliable corrosion resistance in potable water, hydronic heating, and general plumbing applications. The full 12-inch length makes it suited for applications requiring an extended pipe connection between fittings, valves, or equipment. Weighing 1.59 pounds, it is a heavy-duty fitting built for long service life. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this type of threaded nipple.
This nipple is designed for use in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a threaded male-to-male pipe connection is required. Common applications include potable water supply lines, hydronic heating loops, and general fluid conveyance systems. The lead free construction meets requirements for use in drinking water systems where lead content restrictions apply. It is well suited for connecting valves, tees, elbows, and other threaded fittings in tight or extended configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded nipple replacement or new installation fitting compatible with standard 1-inch NPT threaded plumbing fittings, valves, and pipe connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten using a pipe wrench to a snug fit without overtightening. Do not use pipe dope compounds that are incompatible with brass fittings.
