The BMI USA 4667 is a lead-free brass threaded nipple measuring 1 inch in diameter and 7 inches in length. Brass nipples are used to connect threaded pipe sections in plumbing and piping systems, extending or joining runs with a male-threaded fitting on both ends. The red finish on this nipple indicates lead-free brass construction, which meets current potable water standards for use in water supply applications. At 0.88 pounds, the fitting is machined from solid brass stock, providing corrosion resistance and durability in both hot and cold water service. Installation requires standard pipe wrenches or strap wrenches and appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications, including water supply lines, distribution manifolds, and fixture connections. It is a standard hex nipple format commonly installed by licensed plumbers in supply and distribution piping where a short, rigid threaded connection is needed between fittings, valves, or equipment.
Designed as a standard 1-inch NPT threaded nipple for use with compatible threaded brass, iron, or steel fittings, valves, and pipe in residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installing or removing threaded fittings. Apply PTFE tape or a listed pipe thread sealant to the male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten — use a pipe wrench with a backup wrench on adjacent fittings to avoid stress on connected components.
