The BMI USA 4635 is a lead-free brass pipe nipple designed for use in potable water, hydronic, and general plumbing piping systems. Measuring 1 inch in diameter and 3.5 inches in length, this threaded fitting connects two female-threaded fittings or valves in a straight run. The brass construction provides corrosion resistance and durability in both hot and cold water applications. At 0.47 pounds, it is a compact, solid-body nipple suited for tight spaces and close-coupled connections. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction, renovation, and repair work on residential and light commercial systems.
This nipple is appropriate for residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a short threaded extension is needed between valves, tees, elbows, or other fittings. The lead-free brass composition makes it compliant for use in potable water lines where lead-free materials are required by code. It is well-suited for use in supply lines, manifolds, boiler trim, and hydronic heating assemblies where a reliable, code-compliant brass fitting is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation brass threaded nipple compatible with standard 1-inch NPT female-threaded fittings and valves in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or paste rated for the intended service to all male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive torque.
