The BMI USA 4630 is a lead-free brass pipe nipple designed for threaded plumbing connections in residential and light commercial piping systems. At 3 inches in length with a 1-inch diameter, this close-pattern nipple provides a reliable, corrosion-resistant connection between threaded fittings, valves, and other pipe components. The brass construction offers solid performance in potable water, gas, and general plumbing service. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting as part of standard threaded pipe assemblies, where leak-free joints and long service life are required.
This nipple is suited for use in residential and commercial plumbing systems where NPT-threaded connections are specified. Common applications include supply lines, manifold assemblies, valve extensions, and short-run threaded connections between fittings. The lead-free construction meets requirements for potable water applications under current plumbing codes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for use with 1-inch NPT threaded plumbing components in residential and commercial systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before threading this nipple into any fitting or valve. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to all male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten threaded connections, as brass fittings can be damaged by excessive torque.
