The BMI USA 4625 is a lead-free brass threaded pipe nipple measuring 1 inch in diameter and 2.5 inches in length. It connects sections of pipe in potable water, HVAC hydronic, and general plumbing supply systems. The all-brass construction resists corrosion and holds up to the pressures typical of residential and light commercial piping. Both ends carry standard NPT threads for straightforward makeup with compatible fittings and valves. Plumbers and pipefitters install this nipple as a close or extension connector wherever a short threaded run is needed between two fittings or between a fitting and a valve body.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems including domestic hot and cold water supply, hydronic heating loops, and general water distribution piping. Its lead-free brass composition meets standards for use in potable water applications. The compact 2.5-inch body makes it practical in tight spaces such as valve assemblies, manifold banks, and mechanical room rough-in work where longer nipples would not fit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-stock threaded fitting for 1-inch NPT plumbing systems in residential and light commercial applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local amendments. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before threading or unthreading any fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or paste rated for the service fluid to the male threads before makeup. Do not over-tighten — use a pipe wrench with a backup wrench on the adjacent fitting to avoid stressing downstream connections.
