The BMI USA 4425 is a lead-free brass pipe nipple designed for threaded plumbing connections in water supply, distribution, and general-purpose piping systems. Machined from solid brass, this nipple provides a corrosion-resistant joint between threaded fittings, valves, and fixtures. It measures 0.5 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches in length, making it suitable for close-quarter connections where a short, rigid extension is needed. The lead-free construction meets drinking water safety requirements for potable water applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this type of fitting in both residential and light commercial work.
This nipple fits standard NPT-threaded plumbing assemblies and is commonly used in residential water supply lines, commercial plumbing distribution systems, and mechanical rooms where brass fittings are specified. Its compact 2.5-inch length makes it a practical choice for connecting valves, gauges, and fixtures in tight spaces. The brass construction suits hot and cold water service as well as select industrial fluid applications where brass is an approved material.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install brass pipe nipple for standard 0.5-inch NPT threaded plumbing systems in residential and commercial applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive torque.
