The BMI USA 4368 is a lead-free brass nipple designed for use in threaded plumbing systems. This close-tolerance fitting measures 3/8 inch in diameter and 8 inches in length, making it well suited for supply line extensions, riser connections, and branch line assemblies. Constructed from solid brass with a red finish, the 4368 delivers reliable corrosion resistance in both hot and cold water service. Its threaded ends allow for straightforward installation into standard NPT fittings without the need for specialized tooling. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on potable water systems will appreciate the lead-free construction, which meets current safe drinking water compliance requirements.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a short threaded extension is needed between supply valves, angle stops, fixtures, or branch connections. The 3/8 inch size is common in fixture supply lines, lavatory risers, and smaller domestic water distribution runs. At 0.55 pounds, the fitting is compact and easy to handle during installation in tight spaces such as under-sink cabinets or within wall chases.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded nipple replacement for residential and light commercial plumbing systems using standard 3/8 inch NPT threaded fittings and valves.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply appropriate thread sealant tape or pipe dope to the male threads before assembly, and tighten using a pipe wrench to avoid overtightening or cross-threading. Inspect for leaks after restoring pressure to the system.
