The BMI USA 4325 is a lead-free brass nipple designed for use in potable water, plumbing, and general piping systems where lead-free compliance is required. At 3/8 inch in diameter and 2.5 inches in length, this close-tolerance nipple provides a reliable threaded connection between fittings, valves, and other pipe components. Its brass construction offers corrosion resistance and durability in both hot and cold water applications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction, retrofit, and repair work where a short threaded section is needed to bridge two threaded ports.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications, including potable water supply lines, hydronic heating distribution piping, and general fluid-handling systems. The lead-free designation makes it appropriate for installations subject to state and federal lead-free mandates, including those governed by the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act requirements. It is typically installed in tight spaces where a standard hex nipple or close nipple is required between two threaded connections.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-use fitting for 3/8 inch NPT threaded plumbing systems in residential and light commercial applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before threading this nipple into any fitting or valve. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the threads before assembly, and tighten to a snug fit using a pipe wrench — do not overtighten brass fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque. Verify compliance with local plumbing codes and lead-free requirements before installation in potable water systems.
