The BMI USA 4320 is a lead-free brass threaded nipple designed for use in potable water and general plumbing systems. This close-pattern fitting connects two female-threaded ports, extending or joining pipe runs with a secure, leak-resistant threaded seal. At 3/8 inch diameter and 2 inches in length, it is well suited for tight spaces where a short extension or transition is needed. The lead-free brass construction meets safe drinking water standards, making it appropriate for both residential and light commercial potable water applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers of this fitting type.
This nipple is commonly installed in residential water supply lines, fixture connections, and light commercial plumbing systems where 3/8 inch threaded fittings are specified. Its compact 2-inch length makes it a practical choice for close-quarter installations such as under-sink supply connections, boiler trim piping, and valve-to-valve runs. The red finish aids in quick identification in multi-pipe environments. It is compatible with standard NPT-threaded fittings and valves in the 3/8 inch size range.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 3/8 inch NPT female-threaded valves, couplings, and fixture connections in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installation. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope to the male threads before making up the connection. Do not overtighten brass fittings, as this can crack the fitting body or distort threads.
