The BMI USA 4315 is a lead-free brass nipple designed for threaded pipe connections in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Measuring 3/8 inch in diameter and 1.5 inches in length, this short nipple provides a compact, reliable connection between fittings, valves, and other threaded components. Constructed from solid brass, it offers good corrosion resistance and durability in standard water supply applications. Its lead-free construction meets current safe drinking water requirements, making it suitable for potable water systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting as part of routine pipe assembly and repair work.
This nipple is suited for use in residential water supply lines, light commercial plumbing, and similar applications where a short threaded brass connection is required. The 3/8-inch size is commonly found in supply stops, fixture connections, and branch line assemblies. Its compact length makes it useful in tight spaces where a close or hex nipple would be too short but a longer nipple would be impractical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard component for threaded plumbing assemblies using 3/8-inch NPT fittings in potable water and general plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive torque.
