The BMI USA 4271 is a lead-free brass nipple designed for threaded pipe connections in residential and commercial plumbing systems. Constructed from solid brass with a red finish, this nipple provides a reliable, corrosion-resistant joint between threaded fittings, valves, and pipe assemblies. At 11 inches in length and 1/4-inch diameter, it suits applications where a longer threaded extension is needed. Lead-free construction meets current potable water standards, making it appropriate for domestic water supply lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting type.
This nipple is suited for use in residential and light commercial plumbing installations where 1/4-inch threaded connections are required. Typical applications include water supply lines, fixture connections, and equipment hookups. Its all-brass construction handles standard water service pressures and is compatible with common pipe dope and PTFE thread sealants used in the trade.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 1/4-inch NPT threaded plumbing connections in residential and commercial water systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly. Hand-tighten first, then use a pipe wrench to achieve a snug, leak-free connection without overtightening, which can crack brass fittings.
