The BMI USA 4250 is a lead-free brass threaded nipple designed for use in plumbing distribution systems where safe drinking water compliance is required. At 5 inches in length with a 1/4-inch diameter, this close-tolerance fitting connects pipe runs and extends threaded assemblies in tight spaces. Weighing 0.18 pounds, the solid brass construction resists corrosion and holds up under repeated make-and-break cycles. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of nipple during new construction, retrofit, and repair work on potable water supply lines.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where lead-free materials are required by code. Its threaded ends allow direct connection to valves, tees, elbows, and other fittings without additional adapters. The 5-inch body length provides clearance in installations where short nipples or close nipples would not leave adequate room for wrenching.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit nipple for 1/4-inch threaded plumbing systems in residential and light commercial potable water supply applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly, and tighten using a pipe wrench to avoid over-torquing the brass body. Inspect for leaks after restoring pressure.
