The BMI USA 4235 is a lead-free brass threaded nipple designed for use in plumbing and piping systems where potable water safety compliance is required. Measuring 1/4 inch in diameter and 3.5 inches in length, this close nipple connects two threaded female fittings in tight-space installations. The brass construction provides corrosion resistance and reliable sealing under standard service pressures. At 0.13 pounds, it is lightweight and easy to handle during installation. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in both residential and light commercial applications.
This nipple is suited for water supply lines, HVAC hydronic systems, and general plumbing distribution piping where a short threaded connector is needed between valves, tees, elbows, or other female-threaded components. Its lead-free brass composition makes it appropriate for potable water service in jurisdictions that enforce lead-free fitting requirements under applicable plumbing codes.
Designed as a standard NPT threaded nipple compatible with 1/4 inch female-threaded fittings used in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes, including IPC and IFGC requirements where relevant. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe joint compound to the male threads before assembly to ensure a leak-free connection. Do not overtighten, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive force.
