The BMI USA 4200 is a lead-free brass nipple fitting designed for use in threaded plumbing assemblies. This close-pattern nipple measures 1/4 inch with a 7/8-inch overall length and is manufactured from solid brass with a red finish. Lead-free construction meets current potable water standards, making it appropriate for water supply lines where material compliance is required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting when connecting threaded pipe runs or transitioning between fixtures and valves in residential and light commercial systems.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where a short threaded connector is needed between two female-threaded ports. Its compact close-length design is commonly used in tight-clearance situations where a longer nipple would not fit. The lead-free brass material makes it appropriate for potable water applications, hydronic heating connections, and general plumbing rough-in work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use threaded nipple for 1/4-inch NPT plumbing connections in residential and light commercial piping systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or paste to the male threads before assembly and hand-tighten before using a pipe wrench to avoid cross-threading. Do not overtighten brass fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque.
