The BMI USA 4062 is a lead-free brass threaded nipple designed for use in potable water, plumbing distribution, and fluid-handling systems. At 3 inches in diameter and 9 inches in length, this close-tolerance fitting provides a reliable threaded connection between pipe sections, valves, and fittings. Machined from brass with a red finish, the 4062 meets lead-free material requirements applicable to drinking water systems. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting during new construction, retrofit work, and repair applications where a durable, corrosion-resistant nipple is required.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems. The 3-inch diameter makes it appropriate for main distribution lines and larger branch connections. The 9-inch body length accommodates installations where a standard close or short nipple would not provide adequate reach between fittings or valves. It is commonly used in supply lines, mechanical rooms, and utility connections where brass construction is specified for compatibility with water or hydronic systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard threaded brass pipe systems in residential and commercial plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Use appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape on all male threads prior to assembly. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as brass fittings can be damaged by excessive force.
