The BMI USA 4060 is a lead-free brass threaded nipple designed for use in potable water, plumbing, and general piping systems. This close-pattern nipple features a red finish and is constructed from solid brass, offering reliable corrosion resistance in wet service conditions. At 7 inches in length and 3 inches in diameter, it provides a sturdy, leak-resistant threaded connection between pipe sections or fittings. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of nipple in both residential and light commercial applications where lead-free compliance is required by code.
This nipple is suited for residential and commercial plumbing installations where lead-free brass fittings are specified. Typical applications include water supply lines, distribution manifolds, and threaded pipe assemblies. Its 3-inch thread size makes it appropriate for larger-diameter runs such as main supply headers, water heater connections, and similar high-flow plumbing configurations. The lead-free designation meets requirements for potable water contact under applicable plumbing codes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation threaded nipple for 3-inch NPT plumbing systems in residential and commercial applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable International Plumbing Code (IPC) or local jurisdiction requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten, as brass fittings can crack under excessive torque.
