The BMI USA 4013 is a lead-free brass threaded pipe nipple used to connect or extend sections of pipe in plumbing and mechanical systems. Machined from brass with a red finish, this nipple provides a reliable, corrosion-resistant joint in water supply, hydronic, and general-purpose piping applications. At 4 inches in length with a 3-inch nominal pipe diameter, it is suited for larger-diameter runs where a short, rigid extension or close coupling is required between fittings, valves, or equipment connections. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters handle installation in both residential and commercial settings.
This nipple is appropriate for use in domestic water supply systems, hydronic heating and cooling distribution, and light industrial piping where brass fittings meet code requirements. Its lead-free construction makes it compliant with safe drinking water standards, making it a suitable choice for potable water applications. It threads directly into standard NPT-tapped fittings, valves, pumps, and manifolds in 3-inch pipe configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for standard 3-inch NPT threaded plumbing and mechanical piping systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or compound rated for the service fluid to all male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten brass fittings, as excess torque can crack the fitting body.
