The BMI USA 35463 is a malleable iron black pipe tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in gas, air, and fluid distribution systems. This tee fitting provides a branch outlet from a main run, allowing a lateral connection at a 90-degree angle. The 1-1/4 inch run with 3/4 inch branch outlet configuration suits reducing applications where a smaller branch line must be tapped off a larger main line. At 0.75 pounds, it is a compact, durable fitting installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians working with low-pressure threaded pipe systems.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial piping installations where a reducing tee connection is required. Common applications include gas distribution manifolds, compressed air lines, steam and hydronic heating systems, and water supply piping. The black finish and malleable iron construction make it well-suited for gas line work where non-galvanized fittings are required by code. It accepts standard NPT threaded pipe on all three ports and is field-assembled without special tooling beyond a pipe wrench and appropriate thread sealant.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded fitting compatible with standard NPT threaded pipe systems using 1-1/4 inch and 3/4 inch nominal pipe sizes in malleable iron piping assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) or International Plumbing Code (IPC) where applicable. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system completely before disassembling or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the intended service medium to all male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten fittings with power tools, as malleable iron threads can be damaged by excessive torque.
