The BMI USA 35382 is a 90-degree street pattern malleable iron pipe elbow finished in black. Street elbows accept a male-threaded pipe on one end and a female-threaded fitting on the other, eliminating the need for a separate nipple in tight-space installations. At 9.21 pounds, this is a heavy-duty fitting intended for use in gas, steam, or water piping systems where a reliable threaded right-angle change of direction is required. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors turn to malleable iron fittings like this one for their strength and resistance to mechanical stress in permanent installations.
This elbow is suited for residential and commercial piping applications that require a 90-degree directional change at a threaded joint. Its black finish is standard for non-potable applications such as natural gas and propane distribution lines, as well as low-pressure steam and air systems. The street configuration is especially useful when working in confined spaces or when reducing the number of threaded connections in a run.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded street elbow fitting for use in standard NPT-threaded malleable iron piping systems in residential and commercial mechanical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local mechanical and plumbing codes, including IFGC requirements for gas piping systems. Shut off and depressurize the piping system fully before disassembly or fitting installation. Apply an approved pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the intended service to all threaded connections before assembly. Do not over-tighten threaded fittings, as malleable iron can crack under excessive torque.
