The BMI USA 35211 is a 3-inch, 45-degree malleable iron pipe elbow finished in black. This fitting is designed to change the direction of a piping run at a 45-degree angle, making it a standard component in threaded pipe assemblies. Malleable iron construction provides the strength and ductility needed to handle the mechanical stress of threaded connections and system vibration. It is installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and gas service technicians working on black iron piping systems.
This elbow is suited for use in residential and light commercial applications where black iron pipe is specified. Common installations include gas supply lines, steam systems, and general-purpose threaded piping assemblies. The 3-inch size is frequently specified in main trunk lines and larger branch runs where adequate flow capacity is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3-inch threaded black iron piping systems using standard NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) or International Plumbing Code (IPC) where relevant. Shut off all gas or fluid supply and relieve system pressure before disassembling or installing any threaded fittings. Apply appropriate thread sealant or pipe-joint compound rated for the intended service medium before making up connections. Do not over-tighten threaded joints, as malleable iron fittings can crack if subjected to excessive torque.
