The BMI USA 35202 is a 1/4-inch 45-degree malleable iron pipe elbow finished in black. Designed to change the direction of a piping run by 45 degrees, this fitting connects standard threaded pipe sections in gas, air, and fluid distribution systems. Malleable iron construction provides the ductility and strength required for threaded fitting applications in both above-ground and in-wall installations. The black finish is standard for gas piping and low-pressure steam systems. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this fitting type.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial piping installations where a 45-degree directional change is required on 1/4-inch pipe. Common applications include natural gas supply lines, propane distribution, compressed air lines, and hydronic systems. The compact size makes it useful in tight spaces where a 90-degree fitting would not allow adequate clearance for routing pipe runs along joists, studs, or equipment panels.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded pipe fitting for use with standard 1/4-inch NPT pipe in gas, air, and fluid piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) or International Plumbing Code (IPC) where relevant. Shut off and depressurize the line before removing or installing any fitting. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the intended service medium to all male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten, as malleable iron fittings can crack under excessive torque.
