The BMI USA 10389 is a black steel single-run pipe nipple used to create threaded connections in gas, air, and liquid piping systems. Measuring 3/8 inch in diameter and 6 inches in length, this nipple is manufactured from steel with a black finish and is suitable for use in close-coupled piping runs where a short, rigid threaded section is required. It weighs 2.2 pounds and is a standard trade fitting used by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians on both residential and light commercial jobs.
This nipple is suited for use in gas distribution piping, compressed air lines, and general fluid piping applications. The 3/8 inch thread size fits standard NPT fittings and valves commonly found in residential gas appliance hookups, hydronic heating systems, and industrial piping layouts. The 6 inch length makes it useful for spanning short distances between fittings or connecting components that require a rigid, non-flex pipe section.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3/8 inch NPT threaded piping systems in residential and light commercial plumbing, gas, and HVAC applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, including IFGC and IPC requirements where relevant. Shut off the gas or fluid supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the intended service medium before making up the joint. Do not overtighten threaded connections, as this can crack fittings or damage threads.
