The BMI USA 10167 is a black steel pipe nipple used to connect sections of threaded pipe in gas, air, and low-pressure fluid distribution systems. At 1/8 inch in diameter and 7 inches in length, this nipple provides a close-coupled threaded connection point between fittings, valves, and pipe runs. The black finish indicates bare steel without galvanizing, which is the standard for natural gas and propane piping applications. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians reach for this fitting when extending or terminating small-diameter threaded pipe assemblies.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial gas distribution lines, compressed air systems, and similar low-pressure threaded pipe applications. The 1/8 inch nominal pipe size fits standard NPT-threaded fittings and valves of the same diameter. It is commonly used in burner assemblies, pilot gas lines, and other small-bore connections within HVAC and plumbing systems where a 7 inch threaded extension is needed between components.
Designed as a standard replacement or new-installation nipple for 1/8 inch NPT threaded pipe systems in gas, air, and low-pressure fluid service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and IFGC requirements. Shut off and lock out the gas supply or system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply approved thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the intended service before making up the connection. Do not use black steel nipples in systems where galvanized fittings are specified or where corrosive fluids are present.
