The BMI 47823 is a wrot copper press-by-male threaded adapter designed for joining copper press-fit systems to male NPT threaded pipe connections. This fitting transitions a 3/4 inch press-fit end to a 1/2 inch male threaded end, making it a standard transition component in hydronic, radiant, and domestic water plumbing systems. Wrot copper construction provides consistent material density and pressure performance. Licensed plumbers install this fitting during new construction and retrofit work where press-fit tooling is in use.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a press-fit copper system must connect to a male-threaded valve, fixture, or component. It is commonly installed at manifold terminations, shutoff valve connections, and equipment supply lines. The 3/4 inch press inlet accommodates standard press-fit jaws, while the 1/2 inch male thread connects to any compatible female-threaded fitting or port.
Designed as an OEM-style wrot copper fitting for use in residential and commercial press-fit copper plumbing systems requiring a transition from a 3/4 inch press connection to a 1/2 inch male threaded port.
Installation of this fitting should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before installation. The press-fit end requires a calibrated press tool with the appropriate jaw size for the fitting diameter. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threaded end before making the threaded connection.
