The BMI 4430 is a solid brass pipe nipple sized at 1/2 inch nominal diameter by 3 inches in length. Pipe nipples are short threaded pipe sections used to connect two fittings, valves, or equipment ports within a piping system. This nipple is manufactured from brass, making it well suited for plumbing, water service, and light mechanical applications where corrosion resistance and reliable thread engagement are required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install these fittings as part of both new construction and repair work.
This 1/2 inch by 3 inch brass nipple is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems, including supply line connections, valve installations, and fixture tie-ins. Brass nipples are commonly specified where dezincification resistance and a clean thread fit matter, such as potable water, compressed air, and low-pressure gas service lines depending on local code requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard plumbing component for 1/2 inch NPT threaded systems in residential and light commercial plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable International Plumbing Code (IPC) or local jurisdiction requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any pipe nipple. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-torque threaded brass fittings, as brass is softer than steel and threads can be damaged under excess force.
