The BMI 4315 is a lead free brass nipple designed for use in potable water and general plumbing systems. Measuring 3/8 inch in diameter by 1-1/2 inches in length, this short nipple provides a reliable threaded connection between fittings, valves, and pipe runs. The lead free brass construction meets current drinking water compliance standards, making it appropriate for use in water supply lines where lead content restrictions apply. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction, renovation, and repair work across residential and light commercial applications.
This nipple is suited for potable water supply systems, hydronic heating connections, and general plumbing service lines where a short threaded brass fitting is required. The 3/8 inch size is common in branch supply lines, fixture connections, and valve installations. Its compact 1-1/2 inch length makes it useful in tight spaces where a close or hex nipple would be too short but a longer nipple is unnecessary.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 3/8 inch threaded plumbing systems in residential and light commercial applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten brass fittings, as excess torque can crack the fitting body.
