The BLUE MONSTER 70658 is a silver PTFE thread seal tape designed for creating dependable, leak-proof threaded joints in plumbing, gas, and fluid system applications. Rated to 10,000 psi for water and oil service, this tape handles an exceptionally wide temperature range of -450 degrees F to 500 degrees F, making it suitable for demanding mechanical environments. At 1/2 inch wide and 520 inches long, the roll provides generous coverage per job. The tape is formulated thicker than standard PTFE tape, so fewer wraps are needed to achieve an effective seal. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.

This tape is well suited for residential and light commercial plumbing connections where threaded fittings meet chrome, stainless steel, or nickel-finish fixtures. The silver color blends with high-end decorative finishes, making it a preferred choice when aesthetics around exposed fittings matter. Installation Notes

Shut off system pressure and drain the line before disassembling or assembling threaded connections. Wrap the tape clockwise around the male threads, starting at the first thread, applying consistent tension to seat the tape into the thread profile. PTFE thread tape is typically installed by licensed plumbers in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Do not use PTFE tape as the sole sealant on connections that require a pipe dope or anaerobic thread sealant as specified by the fitting or system manufacturer.
