The BLACK SWAN lube is a single-component liquid neoprene adhesive and lubricant formulated for compression-type gasket joints in cast iron soil pipe systems. It works by bonding to the gasket surface during assembly, creating an immediate watertight seal that resists separation after cure. The formula carries a flammability rating of 3 and is rated for service up to 250 degrees F. Plumbers and drain-waste-vent installers use it during routine soil pipe connections where code-compliant, leak-resistant joints are required. The characteristic solvent odor indicates active solvent content, so ventilation during application is standard practice.
This adhesive-lube is intended for compression gasket installations on cast iron pipe, including hub-and-spigot joints commonly found in residential and light commercial drain, waste, and vent systems. It is applied directly to the gasket and pipe surface before assembly to ease insertion and activate adhesion simultaneously. The black liquid neoprene formula is suited for below-grade, in-wall, and above-slab soil pipe applications where joint integrity is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style adhesive lubricant for compression-type gaskets used in cast iron soil pipe joint installations.
This product is typically installed by licensed plumbers working on drain, waste, and vent systems in accordance with the International Plumbing Code. Apply the adhesive-lube to the gasket and mating pipe surface immediately before joint assembly. Work in a well-ventilated area due to solvent content, and keep the product away from open flames or ignition sources given its flammability rating. Allow adequate cure time before pressurizing or backfilling the system.
