The BK 521-941BG is a black malleable iron hex bushing used to reduce pipe size in threaded piping systems. It features a 3/4 inch male NPT thread on the larger end and a 1/4 inch female NPT thread on the smaller end. The hexagonal body provides wrench flats for secure installation and removal. Each fitting meets ANSI/ASTM A-197 material standards and ANSI/ASME B16.14 and B16.39 dimensional standards, with threads conforming to ANSI B1.20.1. Plumbers, pipefitters, and gas line technicians install these fittings in black iron piping systems for residential and light commercial applications.
This hex bushing is suited for black iron gas distribution lines, compressed air systems, and general-purpose threaded pipe assemblies. The fitting transitions from a 3/4 inch pipe tap down to a 1/4 inch female port, making it common at appliance connections, gauge ports, and branch take-offs. Each unit is individually flag tagged and 100 percent inspected and quality tested before shipment. The Mueller logo is cast into the body of the fitting as a manufacturer identifier.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-service fitting for threaded black iron pipe systems using 3/4 inch and 1/4 inch NPT connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or gas fitters working with threaded black iron piping systems. Shut off and depressurize the gas or fluid line completely before making any fitting changes. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service medium to all male threads before assembly. Follow applicable IFGC or IPC requirements for the specific system type and local jurisdiction.
