The BK 510-306BG is a 1-1/4 inch 90-degree street galvanized malleable iron elbow, also referred to as a 1/4 bend street fitting. It is used to change pipe direction in threaded iron piping systems. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for both indoor and outdoor installations. Each fitting is manufactured to ANSI/ASTM A-197 material standards with dimensions conforming to ANSI/ASME B16.3 and B16.14, and threads cut to ANSI B1.20.1. Every unit is individually flag tagged and 100 percent inspected and quality tested before leaving the facility. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in commercial and residential applications.
This street elbow is suited for threaded malleable iron piping systems used in water, gas, and air distribution. A street elbow accepts a male-threaded pipe on one end and a female-threaded connection on the other, eliminating the need for an additional nipple in tight spaces. It is commonly installed during rough-in work on residential and light commercial plumbing, gas, and compressed air systems where a 90-degree directional change is required in a 1-1/4 inch line.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/4 inch NPT threaded malleable iron piping systems in plumbing, gas distribution, and compressed air applications.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters working on threaded iron pipe systems. Shut off and depressurize the line before disassembly or installation. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads per local code requirements, following IFGC or IPC guidelines as applicable. Do not over-tighten; use a pipe wrench with a backup wrench on the adjacent fitting to avoid stressing the joint.
