The BK 506-020 is a Schedule 80 PVC nipple used for the transport of water and other compatible liquids in residential and commercial piping systems. Machined to IPS (iron pipe size) dimensions and threaded to NPT (National Pipe Thread) standards, this nipple meets ASTM D1785 specifications. The 1-1/4-inch diameter and 2-inch length make it suitable for close or short-run connections in a range of pipe configurations. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure resistance compared to Schedule 40. A pipe thread compound or sealing tape should be applied to the threaded portion before installation to ensure a leak-free joint.
This nipple fits standard plumbing, irrigation, industrial, and process piping applications where Schedule 80 PVC is specified. It is commonly installed in systems that handle water, mild chemicals, and other liquids compatible with PVC. Sold individually, it is a practical replacement or new-install component for plumbers and pipefitters working on both residential and light commercial projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using 1-1/4-inch NPT threaded connections.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the system before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply pipe thread compound or PTFE sealing tape to the male threads before assembly to prevent leaks. Do not overtighten PVC threaded fittings, as excessive torque can crack the fitting body.
