The BK 496-240 is a braided stainless steel water heater connector designed to provide a reliable, flexible supply connection between a water heater and the building water supply line. The connector features a virgin PVC core reinforced with polyester yarn braiding, over-braided with Type 304 stainless steel for added strength and long-term durability. Chrome-plated brass hex nuts and washers deliver a dependable hand-tight seal without the need for tools. Rated to a maximum temperature of 180 degrees F and a maximum pressure of 125 psi, this connector handles the demands of residential, commercial, and industrial water supply applications.
This connector is suited for water supply connections to water heaters and fixtures across residential, commercial, and industrial installations. The 3/4 inch FIP inlet and 1/2 inch inside diameter compression outlet configuration covers common water heater rough-in scenarios. At 18 inches in length, it provides sufficient flexibility to accommodate standard heater placements and minor misalignments during installation. Licensed plumbers and qualified tradespeople are the typical installers for this fitting.
Approved for residential, commercial, and industrial water supply connections to water heaters and fixtures. Fits 3/4 inch FIP inlet connections and 1/2 inch inside diameter compression outlets on standard water heater supply lines.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before disconnecting the existing connector or making new connections. Hand-tighten the brass hex nuts firmly to seat the washers; avoid over-tightening, which can damage the brass fittings or crush the washer seal. Inspect the connection for leaks after restoring water pressure.
