The BK 496-234 is a braided stainless steel water heater connector designed for water supply connections in residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing installations. The core is constructed from virgin PVC reinforced with polyester yarn braiding, then over-braided with Type 304 stainless steel for strength and long-term durability. Chrome-plated brass hex nuts and washers deliver a dependable hand-tight seal without the need for tools. Rated to a maximum temperature of 180 degrees F and a maximum pressure of 125 psi, this connector is IAPMO listed and suitable for a wide range of water supply applications.
This connector is commonly used when connecting water heaters to supply lines in residential homes, light commercial buildings, and industrial facilities. The 18-inch length provides adequate reach for most standard water heater rough-in configurations. The 3/4-inch MIP inlet and 3/4-inch ID connections match common water heater supply port sizing. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this type of connector as part of new water heater installations and service replacements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement connector for residential, commercial, and industrial water heater supply connections using 3/4-inch MIP and 3/4-inch ID fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the cold water supply and allow the water heater to depressurize before removing or installing any supply connectors. Hand-tighten the brass nuts firmly and check for leaks after restoring water pressure. Do not overtighten with tools, as this can damage the brass nuts or the connector fittings.
