The BK 496-151 is a braided stainless steel toilet supply connector designed for water supply connections between shutoff valves and toilet fill valves. It measures 12 inches in length with a 1/2-inch FIP inlet and a 7/8-inch BC outlet. The core is virgin PVC reinforced with polyester yarn braiding, then over-braided with Type 304 stainless steel for tensile strength and corrosion resistance. Chrome-plated brass hex nuts and washers provide a dependable hand-tight seal. Rated for a maximum operating temperature of 180 degrees F and a maximum pressure of 125 psi, this connector is built for long-term service in demanding supply line applications.
The 496-151 is approved for residential, commercial, and industrial water supply applications. It is a standard choice for connecting toilet fill valves in new construction, renovation, and fixture replacement work. Licensed plumbers and experienced DIYers install this connector when replacing aged supply lines or upgrading to braided stainless construction for improved durability and code compliance. Its IAPMO listing supports use in jurisdictions that require listed and labeled plumbing materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement toilet supply connector for standard 1/2-inch FIP shutoff valve outlets and 7/8-inch ballcock inlet fittings commonly found on residential and commercial toilet installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified tradesperson. Shut off the water supply at the stop valve and flush the toilet to relieve line pressure before disconnecting the existing connector. Hand-tighten the brass nuts to seat the washers, then snug with a wrench — do not overtighten, as this can crack the brass nuts or distort the washers. Verify no leaks are present at both connections after restoring supply pressure.
