The BK 496-123 is a braided stainless steel toilet supply connector designed for water supply connections between shut-off valves and toilet fixtures. The core is virgin PVC reinforced with polyester yarn braiding, then over-braided with Type 304 stainless steel for tensile strength and corrosion resistance. Chrome-plated brass hex nuts and washers provide a dependable hand-tight seal without the need for pipe dope or thread tape on the compression end. Rated to a maximum working pressure of 125 psi and a maximum temperature of 180 degrees F, this connector meets the demands of residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing installations. IAPMO listed for code-compliance confidence.
This connector is suited for toilet rough-in supply line replacements and new installations where a 1/2 inch female iron pipe (FIP) inlet and a 7/8 inch ballcock (BC) outlet are required. The 12 inch length accommodates standard wall-to-toilet rough-in distances in most residential and light commercial restroom configurations. Licensed plumbers and experienced DIYers install this connector during fixture replacements, bathroom remodels, and routine supply line maintenance. Its IAPMO listing makes it acceptable under most model plumbing codes that reference IAPMO standards.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement supply connector for toilet fixtures requiring a 1/2 inch female iron pipe inlet connection and a 7/8 inch ballcock outlet connection.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified tradesperson in accordance with local plumbing codes and applicable sections of the IPC or UPC. Shut off the water supply and flush the toilet to relieve line pressure before disconnecting the existing connector. Hand-tighten the brass nuts only — do not use a pipe wrench or channel-lock pliers on the ballcock nut, as overtightening can crack the toilet tank fitting. After installation, restore water supply slowly and inspect both connections for leaks before leaving the job.
