The BK 496-040 is a braided stainless steel faucet connector designed for water supply connections between shutoff valves and plumbing fixtures. It features a virgin PVC core wrapped with polyester yarn braiding and over-braided with 304 stainless steel for mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. Chrome-plated brass hex nuts and washers provide a dependable hand-tight seal without the need for pipe dope or tape. Rated to a maximum temperature of 180 degrees F and a maximum pressure of 125 psi, this connector is IAPMO listed for residential, commercial, and industrial water supply installations.
This connector is suited for use in residential and commercial plumbing applications where a flexible, corrosion-resistant supply line is required. Typical installations include connecting faucets, toilets, and other fixtures to angle stops or straight shutoff valves. The 3/8 inch compression by 3/8 inch compression end fittings and 96-inch length make it appropriate for installations requiring longer reach, such as pedestal sinks, remote valve locations, or retrofit work where the shutoff is not directly below the fixture.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation faucet connector for residential, commercial, and industrial water supply connections to plumbing fixtures using 3/8 inch compression fittings.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply at the main or branch shutoff valve before disconnecting or replacing supply lines. Hand-tighten the compression nuts and verify connections for leaks before returning the system to service. Do not over-torque the brass nuts, as this can damage the compression seat or crack the fitting body.
