The BK 496-017 is a braided stainless steel faucet connector designed for potable water supply connections to faucets and plumbing fixtures. The core is virgin PVC reinforced with polyester yarn braiding, then over-braided with 304 stainless steel for tensile strength and corrosion resistance. Chrome-plated brass hex nuts at each end are sized at 1/2 inch female on both connections and seat with included washers for a reliable hand-tight seal. Rated to a maximum working pressure of 125 psi and a maximum temperature of 180 degrees F, this connector meets the demands of everyday water supply service. It weighs 0.592 pounds and measures 48 inches in length.
Designed for residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing installations, this connector is a standard choice for hooking up kitchen and bathroom faucets to angle stop or straight stop shutoff valves. Plumbers and pipefitters reach for this type of connector during faucet replacements, new rough-in completions, and fixture upgrades. The 48-inch length provides routing flexibility in tighter cabinet or vanity configurations where shorter connectors fall short.
Approved for residential, commercial, and industrial water supply connections to faucets and plumbing fixtures with 1/2 inch female inlet ports.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified tradesperson in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before disconnecting or installing any supply connector. Hand-tighten the brass nuts onto the shutoff valve and faucet inlet, then snug with a wrench — avoid overtightening, which can crack the nut or deform the washer seat. Inspect the connection for leaks after restoring water pressure.
