The BK 403-100 is a Schedule 80 PVC nipple designed for the transport of water and compatible liquids in pressurized piping systems. Sized at 1/2 inch by 10 inches, it features IPS (iron pipe size) dimensions with NPT (National Pipe Thread) threads on both ends. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure-handling capability compared to Schedule 40, making it suitable for more demanding service conditions. This nipple meets ASTM D1785 specifications. Pipe thread compound or PTFE sealing tape must be applied to the threaded portions before assembly to ensure a leak-free joint. Plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers.

This nipple is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation, industrial fluid lines, and other piping systems where PVC is an appropriate material for the working fluid.
