The BK 164-607 is a Schedule 80 PVC union designed for solvent-weld connections in pressure-rated piping systems. Built from heavy-duty gray PVC, it provides a removable, leak-resistant joint that allows sections of pipe to be disconnected without cutting. The union solvent welds to Schedule 40 outside-diameter pipe and is rated to ASTM D2466 specification. At 0.65 pounds, it is a practical choice for plumbing, irrigation, and chemical-handling lines where a serviceable union fitting is required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in both new construction and repair applications.
This union is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where a disassemblable joint is needed on Schedule 40 O.D. pipe runs. The 1-1/2 inch size fits common drain, waste, and vent branch lines as well as supply and recirculation runs in pool, spa, and water treatment systems. Its gray Schedule 80 body provides greater wall thickness and pressure tolerance compared to Schedule 40 fittings, making it a preferred choice in exposed or higher-demand service locations.
Designed as a solvent-weld union compatible with 1-1/2 inch Schedule 40 outside-diameter PVC pipe in standard pressure-rated plumbing and fluid-handling systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before cutting into an existing system. Use the correct PVC primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 80 fittings, and allow full cure time before returning the line to service. Inspect the union nut and O-ring seat for proper seating before tightening.
