The BK 164-606 is a Schedule 80 PVC union rated for 1-1/4 inch pipe, designed for solvent-weld connections in pressurized plumbing systems. Molded from heavy-duty gray PVC, it provides a removable, pressure-rated joint that allows downstream components to be disconnected without cutting pipe. The union solvent welds to standard Schedule 40 outside-diameter pipe, making it compatible across the most common PVC pipe sizes in service. It meets ASTM D2466 specification requirements and is sold individually. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in both new construction and retrofit applications.
This union is suited for residential and light commercial cold-water supply, irrigation, pool and spa plumbing, and chemical-handling lines where PVC is an approved material. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides additional pressure tolerance compared to Schedule 40 fittings, making it a preferred choice in systems where higher working pressures or mechanical stress are a concern. The solvent-weld connection style is standard practice for PVC piping systems in North America.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/4 inch Schedule 40 outside-diameter PVC piping systems using solvent-weld connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Depressurize and drain the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Use a PVC primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 80 fittings, and allow full cure time before restoring pressure. Do not use this fitting with threaded or push-fit connections — solvent weld only.
